Understanding Prakriti: Your Unique Ayurvedic Constitution

Ayurveda, the ancient science of life, teaches that everything in the universe is composed of five great elements: Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. In the human body, these elements combine to form three fundamental biological energies or humors, known as the Tridoshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

Vata Dosha

Governed by Air and Space elements. It controls all movement in the body, including circulation, breathing, and nervous impulses. Balanced Vata is energetic and creative; imbalanced Vata leads to dryness, anxiety, and bloating.

Pitta Dosha

Governed by Fire and Water elements. It controls metabolism, body temperature, and digestion. Balanced Pitta is sharp-minded, organized, and bold; imbalanced Pitta leads to heat, inflammation, acidity, and anger.

Kapha Dosha

Governed by Water and Earth elements. It controls body structure, fluid balance, and lubrication of joints. Balanced Kapha is calm, stable, loving, and strong; imbalanced Kapha leads to congestion, weight gain, and lethargy.

Why Take a Scale-Based Prakriti Test?

Unlike simple multiple-choice quizzes that label you as just one type, a detailed scale-based Prakriti Parikshan Case Sheet analyzes the exact percentage ratio of all three Doshas in your constitution. Since most people are dual-doshic (e.g. Vata-Pitta or Pitta-Kapha), this scale-based rating provides a highly accurate, personalized metabolic map.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Prakriti refers to your unique biological constitution, established at the time of conception. It represents your natural baseline state of health, including physical features, physiological traits, and personality styles.

The test lists characteristics for each Dosha (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). You rate how much each trait describes you on a scale from 0 (Not at all) to 6 (Perfect match). The system sums up the scores for each Dosha to calculate their percentage ratios.

Once you know your dominant constitution, you can implement customized dietary path guidelines (Ahara) and lifestyle habits (Vihara), such as eating warm grounding foods for Vata or cooling spices for Pitta, to remain balanced and healthy.
